We donated $50 to the Agape Café, a program which provides a restaurant style breakfast to the low income and homeless. Guests may choose their meal from a menu that changes weekly. Volunteer servers wait on guests and then have a chance to sit and visit. The guests are treated with dignity and respect. This grant will go toward the purchase of a larger grill, which they sorely need.

We donated $50 to the Wheels to Work program which is run by Goodwill Industries. They take donated cars, fix them up and give them to families in need of transportation.

M.O.E. volunteered to move cots, blankets, and supplies from one temporary homeless shelter site to another. We did this twice.
March 2004
We spent a school Holiday collecting and moving furniture and supplies for a local family, whose home was destroyed by fire. We also made a small financial contribution to help the family resume a normal lifestyle. again.

By doing chores and combining money from our allowances and money received as gifts, we were able to raise $360 for Week of Compassion. This money will be used to buy 3 water pumps, 3 bee hives, and 300 kg. of bean seeds to help the people of South Africa begin recovering from the drought that has plagued them for the last several years.

We raised $643 for Habitat For Humanity, by washing cars for five hours.
September 2004
When we learned that The Iowa Juvenile Home in Toledo Iowa needed books for their library, we held a book drive
library, we held a book drive and collected more than 900 books, tapes and videos to refurbish their collection

We joined a community-wide event to help encourage people to register to vote. We had our own information display, that highlighted some of the social issues that effect Iowa City

November 2004
We volunteered to rake leaves as a service project. We had a crew of 15 and worked hard clearing three yards. Its fun to see how much you can do together.
December 2004
We made an Old Fashioned Country Store, where we sold handcrafted items to raise $2741. 75% of this will go to UNICEF to benefit Sierra Leone, one of the poorest places in the world. 25% will go to local humanitarian projects.
